Starlings in Conversation is a publication inspired by
Starling murmurations. Previously thought to be a collaborative effort to confuse predators, it is actually believed to be caused by individual Starlings avoiding predators causing others to follow suit. What seems to be a collaborative event may turn out to be caused by entirely selfish motivations.
This publication was made using Processing to generate connect-the-dot style images for each page or spread.
The random nature of the images generated aim to replicate the nature of murmurations itself.
